things i love: creative spaces for kids

I'm trying to get back on the blogging bandwagon. Here is another 'things i love' post with kids and art in mind. i think it's so important to give your children creative freedom and what better way than to create a space for them where they can let their imagination run free?!

LOVE this!! we will definitely be building one of these one day, i'm sure!

this is a great space for kids if they share a room.
there is a built in 'nook' up top for the 2nd bed and they used the space underneath the stairs for storage.

And now for my favorite:

I hope you get inspired by these like i was!

wooden collage

wow, i am WAY behind on my posts!

here is a wooden owl collage that was inspired by petit collage.

materials:
12" x 12" flat wooden square (michael's)
amy butler scrapbook paper
semi-gloss gel medium
scissors
paint brush

i made it for the 'nursery' before amelie was born… ha! i just love it so much, however, haven't figured out how i want to hang it yet. i was thinking maybe i would just attach yellow ribbon to it and hang it by a nail, but haven't settled on that yet. i also didn't know if i should frame it. any suggestions?
