Enjoy your cards year-round!

Are you a Birthday/Christmas/Anniversary/Mothers Day/fill in the blank card hoarder like me? Do you save them because you just can't bare to throw them away, but then every time you find them again, you're like "why am I keeping these? I should throw them away. But I can't 'cause they're so sweet and I'll want them later."?

It's ok if you're like that. That means you are sentimental and cards mean a lot to you. They mean a lot to me and I just can't stand the thought of not being able to go back and read them some day.

Enough of my rambling. Here is an easy way to enjoy your cards year-round…

My BFF gave me this card last year (I think) and it was so pretty I had to keep it. I found a frame it would fit inside so I thought, "why not?" I can look at it every day :)

I framed the front of the card (forgot to take a picture before I cut it to size) and left the back and inside where my sweet note was in the frame so I will be able to go back and look at it.

Oh, I will use this as a reminder… thank you, sweet card and Hazel!

This is sure to cheer me up on a dark day :)

Washi Letter DIY

I just moved into a new house after being a "gypsy" for over a year. And by gypsy, I mean, staying with lovely friends and family while we figure out where to "settle".  All of our stuff was in storage that whole time and my craft space/office was miniscule. I missed my craft supplies like whoa so you can imagine how excited I was to get my work space set up in our new place!

I am also slowly trying to get my daughter's room fixed up all cute for her and had some letters that I had stashed away for this exact reason. I decided to get her "A" out for an easy and fun piece of "flare" on her wall, if you will.

So I have a super simple DIY for you today… so easy, even the "non crafters" can do this one! This is great if you want to add a little zing to a wall or mantle or bookshelf, etc. It was so easy, it took me all of 15 minutes (and that's with a a 3 yr old helping me… and I use the word "helping" very loosely, y'all).

What you will need:

- wooden block letter(s) or object of choice… the possibilities are endless on this one!
- various colors/patterns/sizes of washi tape (found here, here or just google it… it's super easy to find!)

First, gather your supplies and summon your "helper". Then start from the top or bottom, which ever you choose… we started from the bottom, just because.

Space the tape out however you like, overlap, leave some letter showing, etc. Make sure you wrap the tape all the way around to the back so it looks nice a pretty-like. And don't leave out the undersides, a-like so:

Then hang that sucker on the wall or place it on your shelf of choice. Or give it away… that would be sweet of you. But make sure to tell them that you put some blood, sweat and tears into it. That's really important :)

And just like that, you are done! See, I told you it was super duper easy!

I'm definitely not done with this wall. Be prepared to see progress pictures of this room… it's might take a while, but we'll get there!

Happy taping!

{I would love to see pictures of your projects… Post them on the It's Hue I Love facebook page to share!}

love day

I'll start this off by saying I love LOVE.

That being said, I'm not one for Valentine's Day.

I think it's just another overdone American "thing".

Ok, enough of me being synical!

I will say, I don't HATE Valentine's Day, and I definitely don't mind recognizing it, I just don't go all out like some do.

Here are some cards for those who don't, but kinda do, but sometimes, maybe celebrate "love day"…

I just discovered this artist and I LOVE her work!!! Check her out HERE and her shop HERE
This card makes me laugh:

Who are my fellow Downton fans out there? This one is for you…

I'm really digging this hand-drawn card on kraft paper:

And last, but not least… check out this BEAUTY!

So, however you spend your "love day", there's definitely a card out there for your taste :)
